Hey Everyone! Dan Griffith here and I play guitar, sing, and write music. I'm so honored you took the time to check out what I do. Listen, groove, ponder the yonder, turn it up, turn it down, connect and reflect, but please enjoy.
The Album - "The Spaces in Between" - To be released in April/May 2012
"The Spaces in Between" is my debut album as Musical Monk. It chronicles my past few years since moving to New York City. Namely: the roller coaster pursuit of a musical livelihood, the good, bad and often weird times that come with it, my spiritual path, and my non-stop and pathetic endless romantic ups and downs (seriously...I'm hopeless)

The album will feature 6 other amazing individuals and gifted musicians. Ryan Marks (bass), Sueyoung Yoo (piano) and Sean Dixon (drums) have been with me from the start. Tim Peck will also be adding his patented brand of ill funk on clav and organ. AND, I'm stoked to have two great singers doing back-up vocals, Andrew Zapanta and Sarah Wood (can't wait to hear a woman's touch on these tunes!).
Until the album is finished, recording will be my sole focus. We're recording at The Bunker Studio and John Davis is engineering it. Expect it's release in April or May 2012.
So what's this music?
Most of the music on this player is from the first stages of recording at The Bunker Studio: a handful of clips for an album preview. I'm lovin the way they're sounding and they're not even half way done yet. We still need back-up vocals, lead guitar, horns on a handful, percussion, and (most important of all) they need to be mixed and mastered for a great sonic balance. Can't wait for the finished product. There's also two tunes from my home recorded demo (Praying for Peace, and But Not For Me), as well as some guitar solos from past recordings with other bands.
